Spoofy is a free companion app that works with your existing Tinder account. It never stores your password, asks for very little on your phone, and is built to keep your activity looking like normal use. Like any third-party Tinder app, though, it isn’t risk-free, and this page explains exactly where the risks are.

What Spoofy is, and isn’t
Spoofy is an independent app for Android and the web. It is not affiliated with Tinder or Match Group, and it is not a modified version of the Tinder app. It doesn’t unlock Tinder Gold or other paid features, and it doesn’t change your location.
It works with the Tinder account you already have. You don’t create a second account, and everything you do in Spoofy shows up in Tinder as usual: your likes, matches and messages are the same ones you see in the Tinder app.
What Spoofy accesses
Your Tinder account. You sign in through Tinder’s own login. Spoofy uses the signed-in session to load recommendations, send the likes you choose, and show your matches and messages. Spoofy never stores your password.
Your phone. On Android, Spoofy asks for notification permission so it can alert you about new matches, messages and refilled likes. It doesn’t request accessibility access, SMS, contacts or location. That matters, because accessibility access is what malicious “Tinder bots” usually ask for.
If an app claiming to be Spoofy asks for any of those, it isn’t the real one.
Why it isn’t on Google Play
Google Play generally doesn’t accept unofficial apps built on another company’s service, which is what a Tinder companion is. So the Android app is offered as an APK straight from sspoofy.com, and there’s a web app at app.sspoofy.com for iPhone, laptops and anyone who prefers not to install anything.
Being off Google Play means you carry a little of the checking yourself. Our guide on how to install an APK safely walks through it.
How to check you have the real Spoofy
- Download only from sspoofy.com. Not from APK mirrors, mod sites, or links people send you.
- Check the permissions. The real app asks for notifications, not accessibility or SMS.
- Update from the same site. If Android refuses to install an update over your current copy, one of the two files didn’t come from the same developer. Uninstall and reinstall from sspoofy.com.
- It’s free. Spoofy costs nothing, with optional tips to support development. Anyone selling a “premium” or “unlocked” Spoofy is not us.
The realistic risks
Using any third-party app with Tinder is your own choice. Tinder’s terms don’t allow them, and Tinder can restrict accounts it believes are breaking its rules. We won’t pretend otherwise.
In practice, the accounts that get into trouble tend to behave like bots: hundreds of likes in a few minutes, perfectly regular swiping for hours, liking every single profile, running multiple accounts, or using modded Tinder apps. Shadowbans, where your profile is quietly shown less, are the most common result.
Spoofy is designed to stay well away from that pattern:
- It works on your real, single account and does what you’d do in the Tinder app.
- Tinder’s own like limit still applies. Spoofy doesn’t try to get around it.
- Auto-Swipe only likes profiles that pass your filters, so it’s selective rather than liking everyone.
- Scheduled Auto-Swipe stops at 40 likes a day, well below what the free limit allows.
That lowers the risk. It doesn’t remove it. If you’re worried, use Spoofy for browsing, Multi-Liker and alerts, and skip scheduled Auto-Swipe. Our Tinder auto swipe guide covers what tends to get flagged.
Privacy on your phone
A dating app on your phone is personal, so Spoofy has a few privacy features:
- Icon disguise. Change the app icon to Weather, Notes, Calculator or Clock.
- PIN or fingerprint lock. Keep the app closed to anyone who picks up your phone.
- Hidden names in notifications. Alerts can arrive without showing who wrote to you.
- Quiet hours for reminders.
The short answer
Spoofy is as safe as a third-party Tinder app can reasonably be: no stored password, minimal phone permissions, no second account, and activity kept natural. Get it only from sspoofy.com, and know that Tinder’s rules mean no companion app is entirely risk-free. If you’re comparing options, our page on Tinder Gold alternatives explains how Spoofy fits next to Tinder’s paid tiers.
